-   I have trouble configuring my network in linux. I enter my IP, Netmask and gateway, the network icon show that it is connected but after configuring this no aplication starts anymore unless I reboot, and though I reboot the internet isn't working. What should I do?

-   The X Server is tied to the current IP, which is most likely causing your problem.

Instead of rebooting, just log out of KDE/Gnome and log back in. If this works, we
can move to determining why your network access isn't coming up at boot.
