-   Hello there,
i encounter the following problem.
My ATAPI cd-recorder is hdd, i passed the appendline hdd=ide-scsi to the kernel, in /etc/modules.conf the ide-scsi emulation support is loaded.
But when i try a cdrecord -scanbus (as root) there are devices found.
I even made a new initial ramdisk, no success.

Any ideas for this?

Thanks
Thomas

-   well, it should have worked.
try to disable devfsd : edit /etc/lilo.conf,
find append="devfs=mount", and remove "devfs=mount" (append="")

-   Try running "/sbin/modprobe ide-scsi"

If that works, then put that command at the end of /etc/rc.local and it will
do it every time you reboot.

-   devfs is an experimental way of creating device files "on the fly" as
devices are attached to the system, instead of the "old-style" format of
just having every possible device available in the /dev filesystem.
