-   I have just loaded Mandrake 7.1 from a boxed set on a home computer (windows 98SE dual boot) and need to know how to configure it for DHCP via a router to my DSL connection.

-   Mandrake Linux 7.1 is an unsupported version of Mandrakelinux that has been
End of Life'd (quite a while ago too). You would be better off using a
current version of Mandrakelinux - 10.0 or 10.1 (freely available for
download from many Mandrake mirrors)

IIRC though, you can open a console (ALT-F2 then type 'konsole'), log in as
root (type 'su', hit enter, and type your root password) then run the
command 'draknet'
