black_lung : 17/10/04 12:45 AM : More info provided -   I it says package not found. I just want to install an rpm. Ive installed the rpm bw-whois-3.4-1mdk.noarch.rpm but it still says command not found when I use whois. What should I do?
boogie-man : 17/10/04 04:57 AM : Reply received -   First try, Open a console window, login as root. Type "updatedb", type "locate whois | grep bin". It may have installed it in /usr/local/bin. In wich case you will have to either 1 type in the full path name. 2 add the path to your path statment. Or Start Mandrake Control Center, Select Software Manager, Select Install, type whois in the search box. Select the package, install. If that doesn't work go to mandrakes site download section, select a mirror. find the whois package. Download it. Open a console window, login as root. Goto where you downloaded the package. type rpm -i whois?????? where ??? is the rest of the package name. --boogie-man
