-   I am looking to install the drivers for my geforce card. The drivers need to be installed without the x server running. How do I boot without it starting so I can get the drivers to install? Then how do I start the x server once it is done?

-   You can boot to console mode (runlevel 3) by hitting 'Esc' when LILO pops up,
and then type 'linux 3' and hit enter.

Then login as root, and run the NVidia installer as per directions (Note: You
must have the kernel-source package installed to run the NVidia installer -
you can get it from any Mandrake mirror, or via 'rpmdrake'). Once you are
done, you can reboot and it will go back into GUI mode (runlevel 5).
Remember to edit your '/etc/X11/XF86Config-4' as per the NVidia instructions.
