carver07 : 23/08/04 04:05 PM : Incident created
-   Hello. I need to set up urgently a tftp server on my Mandrake 10 system. I have set up the file /etc/xinet.d/tftp service tftp
disable = no
socket_type = dgram
protocol = udp
wait = yes
user = Root
server = /usr/sbin/in.tftpd
server_args = -s -c /var/lib/tftpboot
per_source = 11
cps = 100 2
flags = IPv4
}.
Then I use service xinetd restart.
tftp localhost and the put and get commands does not work. Any help will be much much appreciated.

-   In tftp, in order to use the 'put' command, the file must exist. (This is the
default, although it can be changed). Touch the file you are trying to put,
and then try to 'put' then 'get'.

ie:
Create a file called 'testfile' and put some content in it.

# touch /var/lib/tftpboot/testfile
# tftp localhost
# put testfile
# get testfile

-   Reinstalling the tftp client and server fixed the problem for me. The server was not listening for connections.
