X won't start after upgrade

bbth_4793 : 05/08/04 03:36 AM : Incident created -   I recently upgraded to Mandrake 10.0 from 9.1, after the initial install, X started correctly, but after installing product, security and bugfix updates with RPMDrake, X will not start. Mandrake proceeds to boot, but cannot start X and drops to single user screen. Entering xinit from the command prompt brings up a blue screen and then after a second returns to the command prompt. How do I get X working again?
