- I recently upgraded to Mandrake 10.0 from 9.1, after the initial install, X started correctly, but after installing product, security and bugfix updates with RPMDrake, X will not start. Mandrake proceeds to boot, but cannot start X and drops to single user screen. Entering xinit from the command prompt brings up a blue screen and then after a second returns to the command prompt. How do I get X working again?

- Have you tried reconfiguring X by running 'XFdrake' (case sensitive) as root?
And as a note, it is console mode that it drops to, not 'single user mode'
(which is different).

- Yes, after a bit of messing around with XFdrake, I got things up and running again.
Thanks
