- My copy of Mandrake Linux 10.0 is using the 2.6.3 version of the kernel. I've been told that the latest available version of the Linux kernel is 2.6.7. Does Mandrake have an update to this version? Should I attempt to get v. 2.6.7 from other sources and then update my computer? What is your advice for a Linux novice, but experienced computer user, like me?

- Unless you _require_ the latest kernel, stick with the current version. I
would recommend installing the latest security update for the kernel though.
It is best to stick with official releases of the Mandrake kernel. 10.1
should be coming out soon ( next couple of months) and it will have an updated
kernel.
If you really want a new kernel, I would suggest subscribing to the 'Cooker'
(development) list, and possibly updating to a Cooker release.
