Mel_P : 09/03/04 04:25 PM : Incident created |
- Hello - I am just setting up KMail and being used to Outlook Express and the danger of using the "preview" pane - as this opens the mail and renders the user liable to worms / vurus' etc.
I understand Linux is safer (immune?) so is it safe to use this preview pane in KMail? I couldn't find a way to switch it off anyway.
Your advice if possible please. Thanks
Mel

- It is safe because it doesn't run scripts/images off the net by default.
But no, I don't believe there is a way to turn it off (I looked also).

- Kmail/Settings/Configure Kmail/Security - Take out the checkmark beside
'Prefer HTML mail to plain text'.
This will give you the option to view the HTML if you desire.
If it is only attachments that you want to turn on/off, you can also use
'Kmail/View/Attachments' then set 'As Icon', 'Inline' or 'Smart'.
