-   I have set up a small server which I remotely administer with SSH. How can I run a program through the SSH connection and have that program continue to run even after I close the SSH connection?

-   Use the 'nohup' command (it ignores hangup signals). ie:

# nohup nameofprogram &

The '&' will tell it to run in the background, bringing you back to the console
prompt. You can then exit your ssh shell, and it will continue to run. Type 'info
nohup' for full documentation.
