-   I removed some package by mistake and tried to reinstall by upgrade from boot
after that .. whenever I open the terminal window I get the following message

Bad : modifier in $ (")

I am using tcsh

-   You might try backing up and then removing all of your '.tcsh' files in your home directory, to see if it is related to your original configuration, which now may be missing something.

Also I have noticed the problem occurs with bash too .

-   My guest account dint have the problem,but after I rebooted the problem ocurred with the guesty account too.
I have reinstalled mandrake then.:-)
