sheppler : 15/12/01 02:01 AM : Incident created |
- I have tried several ways to update to Gphoto2. The software manager does not find the ftp site. I also created a gphoto2 directory and downloaded gphoto-2.0beta3.tar.gz archiver opened. The opened files can apparently be autogen or make install but I am stuck here with neither command working. Also in order to create the Gphoto2 file I had to rename a 333kb execacutable file Gphoto2 to Gphoto2b. Does this 333kb file serve as a hook for the update ie. am I making this much harder than it needs to be?

- Yes, yes you are. Download the latest RPM from a cooker mirror - http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/cookerdevel.php3
and install it using 'rpm -Uvh gphoto2*rpm'.

- Linegod - thanks for the help. I looks to have installed but it is not running.
In the terminal mode gphoto2 brings up the help page. When I try to do more I get a gp.comera_set_error. This same error come up when I try enter the camera list from the command line. Should I try gphoto2config?

- Yes. You might also want to try 'gphoto2-port-config'
