-   Hi,

I installed Mandrake Linux 8.1 on Dell Dimension 8300 machine. But it is not picking up the network card. Just for a check, I installed the latest version (9.1) it works. For some reason I have to install 8.1 only. What may be the problem? If 8.1 doesn't have the drivers for the network card I have (Intel PRO/100 VE) how can I install the drivers.
The mandrake Linux 8.1 I have was downloaded 1.5 years ago.
Thanks
Ravi

-   Drivers are part of the kernel RPM, so you might check the updates folder on a
Mandrake mirror, and get the latest kernel (you'll want to do the security
updates anyway), then see if a newer kernel supports your card.
