unable to telnet

Lines in bold below have not yet been seen by the customer - those in blue are from the customer

danomytt : 10/12/01 08:10 AM : Incident created -   I am unable to telnet to remote servers. I get the login prompt, but after proving a login and hitting , the cursor moves to the beginning of the line and no password prompt appears. This used to work to the same remote machines prior to 8.1 install and currently works from other local (non-8.1) machines to the same remote servers, so I'm thinking that there is something in the install/config/? of this 8.1 preventing telnet? Any help would be great!
