- Hi,
httpd-perl has no problem at all.
httpd however has to repeat 3 times the loop in the init script. Each time it gets a generous OK from the system but in reality it has no pid, is not started and can't be used then.
Would you have a clue about the causes?
I understand I have to choose between httpd or httpd-mod_perl, or both...
As I don't need perl, I think the less modules I have the better but is it right?
Another question, by the way, I saw the source for apache 1.3.22. Do you know if there is there a rpm for the binaries?
Regards,
Marc

- You might try running 'apachectl configtest' to check for errors, or check
'/var/log/httpd/error_log'.
I'm not quite clear on your second question, did you want to remove 'httpd-perl' and
just use 'http'?
And your last question has me completly confused. You ask about the source for
apache, and then ask for the binaries. Which are you looking for? The source
code RPM, or the binary RPM?

- Hello,
As far as i know there is an rpm update for that version of apache. If it is not out yet it will be released within the week on the mandrake update sites.
Also it is possible to install The redhat apache rpm as it is compatible. althought i would wait till the mandrake package becomes available. Try running your updtae utility to get the latest software updates from mandrake.
Best regards,
The technical support team.
Mandrakesoft.
