- I have run vncserver on my Web server configured with 9.1, however my vncclient (dual boot machine with XP and 9.1) locks at startup leaving a "watch". In 9.1 root I get a RED screen in user I get the background with no icons. In XP the same occurs, any suggestions.
Many thanks
Mark Hawksworth

- Currently, there is a problem with VNC and KDE/Gnome. Most people have been
able to get VNC working by disabling all anti-aliasing, or by running a
different Window Manager. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.

Thanks for the suggestion, killed vnc, turned off anti-aliased fonts and re-booted using ICEwm.
I re-ran vncserver on screen :1. Then tried my tightVNC viewer and it still locks on the watch. Any other suggestions?
Mark

- vncserver will try to launch your default desktop, not the currently selected one.
Try adding/editing '/home/{username}/.desktop' and set:
DESKTOP=icewm
Then restart vncserver as that user, and see what happens.
