-   Hello again all, can someone please tell me how I could unlock my root dir. without having to sign out and log on as root. thanks in advance.

-   You can access programs/files/directories that require root access by opening
up a console and typing 'su' and then giving the root password. From within
that console, you can act 'as root'.

-   Thanks for your response, but will this allow me to do things with a graphical interface, or text( Iam not familiar with linux commands yet)
