kernow : 30/11/01 04:18 PM : Incident created -   When booting my Linux box I see messages like these: kernel: hdf: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } kernel: hdf: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC } They are repeated 4 times, but everything seems to work fine. hdf is ultradma66 (HPT66) on ide3 and contains 5 partitions: 1. ext2fs for /boot 2. ms_dos 3. swap 4. extended: 5. reiserfs for / 6. ext2fs for /home
Linegod_7611 : 30/11/01 04:45 PM : Reply received -   Try disabling DMA on that drive - 'hdparm -d 0 /dev/hdf' . In order to have this disabled at boot, add it to the end of you '/etc/rc.d/rc.local' . If this resolves the problem, you might look at upgrading your kernel to one of the ones from Cooker.
