vortek : 12/02/03 06:21 AM : Incident created
-   When working on C programs using vi, I have noticed that I can compile and view/edit files fine, but when I go to run the binaries (located in /home/directory/) the binaries will not run unless I type the full path. This was not the case before I had to reinstall Mandrake. Whats going on!?!?
Plus, I need a good link for Mandrake Newbee's that gets into detail about configuring Mandrake. (EX: how to use mounted removable drives)

-   Most likely, when you compile the programs, there are put in '/usr/local/bin'.
By default, this is not in your path. Edit '/home/username/.bashrc' and
add ':/usr/local/bin' to the end of your path (or whatever directory the
program binaries are in ie: /opt/bin)

Both http://www.mandrakeuser.org and http://www.mandrakeusers.org are good
sites for newbies and experts alike.
