mattheww : 03/02/03 09:34 PM : Incident created |
- I was reading an article on bash scripting and it recommended creating a seperate user in case of a disaster. So, naturally I went to the Control Center and created a user. I left the password blank becuase I did not want one. I attempted to log on to the account but it failed. When I tried to go into the User section in the Control center it said that certain files were not able to be locked and did not load. I used bash to try to delete the user, but when I tried (I was root) it failed. I then tried to change the password and that worked, and I could even log on and use the user, but the user control in the control center still did not work. What can I do? Thanks.

- As root, do:
# rm -rf /etc/gtmp
# rm -rf /etc/ptmp
Deleting these two files should 'unlock' userdrake and allow you to delete the
user.
