- msec is running that's fine. But according to the value of UMASK for users he resets the permission of directories. This resetting is fine for most directories but for some this is not adequate. Is there a way to tell msec not to touch certain directories which require a less secure level.
Also is ther a documentation on msec other than Mandrake Linux 8.2: Reference Manual Chapter 12. msec – Mandrake Security Tools
Which is fine but not very detailed.
Thanks

- You can edit '/usr/share/msec/perm.X' directly (where X is your security level).
Also check out '/usr/share/msec/level.X'.
There is a bit of documentation at /usr/share/doc/msec-0.38/ and you can also
do 'man msec'.

- Thanks
Ok I did all that but can't find any information about format of this file and structure of contens. The docs are not detailed enough. On my machine there is no template of these files only config files with values or to set values for python variables I supose.(msec seems to be written in python).
Do you know the format of these files.

- Ok got it these config files are in /usr/share/msec as I can see and not in
/etc/security/msec.
Thanks Linegod it's you hint to check /usr/share/msec/level.x which oriented
me to this files.
Thanks
