-   Can anyone recommend a personal accounting package to me and why they recommend it? I am used to Quicken and Microsoft Money. Any suggestions? I would perfer something written for Linux.

-   If you are looking for a free application there is 'gnucash'. It's on the CDs, or
you can get it from
http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/mandrake/9.0/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/gnucash-1.6.7-1mdk.i586.html
. There is alot of development going on with gnucash, and it can import
Quicken files.

If you are looking for a commercial app, I would recommend Kapital from
TheKompany - http://www.thekompany.com . They are a well established
Linux company, there app is solid, and is very much like Quicken.
