Artim : 23/12/02 03:25 AM : Incident created
-   Can't find where plug-ins are suppossed to installed for konqueror. When I was prompted for Macro Flash add-in I retrived the tar file, and ran from root. The script prompts for the plugin directory. I was able to find Mozilla, /usr/lib/mozilla-1.0 and netscape /usr/lib/netscape, but I can't find the library where konqueror plug-ins go. Please provide some guideance and procedures for konqueror plugin application.
Thank you

-   konqueror will use the plugins from any directory you tell it. By default, it
should be able to use mozilla's plugins. Check in the konqueror plugin
settings, and you should see a list of directories that it is searching. You
can add a directory there if the path does not already exist.

-   Konqueror uses the mozilla or netscape plugins. Make sure you have
kdebase-nsplugins installed ('rpm -q kdebase-nsplugins' then 'urpmi
kdebase-nsplugins' if it is not installed), then from within Konqueror, go to
Settings/Configure Konqueror/Plugins , check 'Enable Plugins Globally' and make
sure the '/usr/lib/mozilla-1.0/plugins' directory is listed (if not add it). Then
press 'Scan for new plugins', close out Konqueror and restart it and you should
be good to go.

-   Please pardon my newness, but how do I tell if kdebase-nsplugins is installed? Were would I find it?
One thing that did happen though is that that there was not an entry for the mozilla-1.1 directory only mozilla. The directory listing was also only under the Netscape plugins icon, which would make sense if all plugins are globally shared if selected. Thanks.

-   You can find out if an RPM is installed by using the query option.
rpm -qa | grep kdebase-nsplugins

-   Appreciated the support, I gained a better understanding of Linux through the contact. I like to idea of the internet response but it is a problem if the problem is internet related becuase one may need a second internet connection to use the service. The response on this issue was quick, but some incidents can wait a long time before someone picks them up.
