- We are a computer manufacturer and we like to install Mandrake Linus with the KDE Desktop on some of our PCs, I wonder if we follow the requirements on the GNU license will be enough, or there are other licensing restrictions we have to follow.
Also, time and time again we have customers from overseas (i.e. outside USA) who purchase computers from us. The US place restrictions on exporting softwares on PCs, which requires that no softwares have encryption capabilities of more than 56 bits be exported. Are there any encryption technology being used in any of the Mandrake Linux software? If there is, how strong is the encryption? I understand Mandrake Linux is freely available to anyone on this planet, but the above might cause some problems in exporting our PCs.
Please let us know, your help will be very much appreciated.

- You would be best served by sending questions such as this threw official
channels, such as the OEM page - http://www.mandrakesoft.com/oem
However, following the GPL should be sufficient for distribution on a PC. Also, I
would check the current status of encryption exportation, as 128bit encryption
can now be shipped freely outside of the US, and cannot apply to technologies
that where not developed within the US.
