-   I can't ping my Linux box from my Windows machine. I checked to see if ipchains and iptables were running and they were both stopped. I also issued iptables -F at the command line and tried pinging this machine from one of my windows machines again and it still timed out. What am I doing wrong? Where else could I look? When I run the firewall wizard in X from the Mandrake Control Center, I have everything that it asks me open. I had a feeling it might be the firewall. I thought that I had seen the linux machine before I ran that firewall wizard browsing through Network Neighborhood in my Windows machine, and although I am new to the linux world, I do know some things about TCP/IP and firewalls, etc. Thanks for the help again.

-   Try lowering your security level with 'draksec'.
