jlcox : 09/10/02 09:20 AM : Incident created |
- I'm a EMC user na dhave just installed 9.0 on a Duron 1.2Ghz box.
I installed the CVS of RTAI and it compiled fine with gcc-3.2
I've compiled all of EMC and rcslib. the problem is that when i go to run EMC it faults as follows:
Current platform is linux_rtai
Current real-time platform is rtai
inivar = plat/linux_rtai/bin/inivar
INIFILE = stepper.ini
plat/linux_rtai/bin/inivar: relocation error: /opt/rcslib/plat/linux_rtai/lib/librcs.so: undefined symbol: __dso_handle
RS274NGC_PARAMFILE =
plat/linux_rtai/bin/inivar: relocation error: /opt/rcslib/plat/linux_rtai/lib/librcs.so: undefined symbol: __dso_handle
Can't find variable EMCMOT in section [EMCMOT] of file stepper.ini.
I removed gcc-2.3 and install gcc-2.96 and recompiled but it failed in the same maner.(only differanc was the symbol... __Jzds )
is this a broken binutil or gcc internal
Thanks
Jason Cox

- It doesn't appear to be a compiler problem, it says 'Can't find variable EMCMOT in
section [EMCMOT] of file stepper.ini.'
Did you check the 'stepper.ini' file for EMCMOT? Does 'stepper.ini' even exist?

jlcox : 10/10/02 05:39 AM : More info provided |
- I've downloaded the latest cvs of gcc3.2 and built without any extras after ./configure. Installed it in /usr/local/bin and temporarly set the path to find it first.
This time is compiled ok and EMC ran first time.
looks like a compiler problem to me but could be wrong

- The programs compile fine here, but I'm using CVS gcc also. Should get fixed in
the next update of gcc.
