dwnorman : 30/09/02 08:58 PM : Incident created |
- I am having trouble installing any rpm's in the new 9.0. With the 8.2 I could simply click on the package and RPM Drake would do the install. How do I go about installing in 9.0?
Thanks in advance,
Donald Norman

- Your best bet would be to access rpmdrake directly -
'K/Configuration/Mandrake Control Center/Software Management/Install
Software'.

- I have also accessed rpmdrake directly and it allows me no way to access the opera rpm. I have set up my cd of downloaded programs as a source for rpmdrake, yet it does not show up when I go to the wizard.

- rpmdrake can only install from sources that have hdlists, which your personal files
would not have. It is quite possible that previously it was using kpackage to install,
and not rpmdrake. You might want to check if you have kdeadmin installed, as
kpackage is a part of it.

- I had just installed 9.0 clean after having run 8.2 for quite some time. It turns out that the install was bad. All is well now. Thanks much.
