-   I downloaded the source for the latest abiword and tried to compile it, but gcc tells me I'm missing gtk-config and glib-config. I checked my cds, and I didn't seem to have them.

What happened? This is the first time I've ever tried to compile a program from source, so I'm a little disappointed that something went wrong.

-   The '-config' warnings mean that you do not have the development libraries
installed. Install libgtk(version)-devel and libglib(version)-devel.

As a side note, Abiword is available as an RPM, so there should be no need to
compile it.
