- I have just installed V8.1 of mandrake. I am trying to configure my NIC card in my machine to have internet access. I have a home network that uses a DSL connection and a firewall/router to provide internet access. I have several windows based machines that connect without problem, so I think the definitions I have specified are ok for mandrake. If I do a NETSTAT -R command, I cannot see my NIC in the list of devices. So it looks like my NIC is not configured correctly. I have the DAVIS 9102 NIC card (actually built onboard the MB) and have selected it via the NETCONF configuration program. Is there a place where the network startup commands are logged so that I can check them to see what is wrong? Thanks in advance for the help...

- with dmesg you can see kernel messages, and check also /var/log/messages
You can also restart the network with /etc/init.d/network
If your card is built into the mainboard see also if it's enabled in bios.
Note:
I am a netcard with your chipset and is working without any problem.

- Sorry, I mis-typed :)
I *have* a netcard with the same chipset and is working without any problem.
