-   Hi

I would like to learn a Linux programming language so that I can write apps for KDE and Gnome. I do have a programming background but only in HTML, CSS and Visual Basic. Do I use Glade or something?. I really want something suitable for a beginner but also something that can write pretty decent apps and comes with a built-in compiler, etc. What would you all recommend and where could I get it?.

Thank's!

-   For KDE, you can use kdevelop (http://www.kdevelop.org) - it's on one of the CDs.
For GNOME, you could use GB (which is GNOME Basic, it would be good for
transition - http://www.gnome.org/projects/gb/), GLADE or any of the dev tools at
http://www.gnome.org/projects/devtools/
