how to uninstall soundcard driver?

-   i need to uninstall my old soundcard, and then uninstall its drivers.

i will install a new soundcard and use new drivers (soundblaster XGamer/Audigy).

is there any particular advice you can offer me?

-   There will be lines for your old soundcard in the file /etc/modules.conf.

Prepend those lines with "#" to comment them, and the card will be disabled at
next boot.

Why don't you attach your modules.conf, and I'll look it over, to be sure that
you know specifically which lines should be commented?
