When I type "http://localhost", where is that actually taking me (what is the exact path)?. I was assuming that "localhost" was the same as "/home/(username)/" but from what I can see, that does'nt appear to be the case...hmmm.

-   If you want /home/username/public_html, then you type
http://localhost/~username

That's is the closest you can get to your home directory.

-   you can also take a look at /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and find a line that
says documentroot, that is the actual path of your localhost, and here you
can change it to whatever you like it, usually /var/www/html/mysite
