betacor : 12/06/02 08:02 PM : Incident created
-   I see PHP modules in apache but does anyone know how I find out if the PHP server is running. Do I have to don an install or is this automatically installed with pro suite 8.2?
I checked the running processes and I am not sure, I see Apache php4 mods.
Thanks

-   PHP is installed as a module, so if you see 'php-4.x.x' when you do 'rpm -
qa|grep php', it is installed. To see if it is working correctly, create a
file called 'phptest.php' in '/var/www/html' with the following contents:

<?php phpinfo() ?>

Then browse to http://localhost/phpinfo.php

-   That should of course be http://localhost/phptest.php

-   I did the 'rpm -qa|grep php' and I saw several php files one of which was php-4.1.2.1mdk. Does that mean it is installed?
I then did the test and I got zip.
Using webmin I checked the running services and I didn't see anything running. httpd appeared to have PNP4 mods running. It doesn't seem to be running to me.
Thanks again
Morgan

-   PHP is a modules of apache, if it is installed correctly, it will only be
called when you go to a file requiring php, you will not see it in the
process list.

If you followed the directions, you should have at least seen the text output
of the file that you created. Did you see that?

As a side note, if the machine is remote to you, browse to that machine.

-   I see how it works now, I could not get to work until I used a php file extension, I thought I needed to create an HTML page that contained PHP code. It is all working fine, thanks very much for your time, good job.
