To increase the number of 'mingettys' (man mingetty) you can edit '/etc/inittab' and add them under '6:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty6' , increasing the number at the beginning and end of the line for each console you want to add. ---- Note: If this answer resolves your question, please remember to close this incident.
