Mip : 29/04/02 08:06 PM : Incident created |
- I?d like to install 8.2 on 18 identical machines over a network.
The automate tool didn?t work for me (got a perl error as I was swapping out CD1 for CD2).
At any rate, I?d like to have this process be automated, so that I could boot the machines, and have them run the install program from the server. I have 3 downloaded CDs which I could put on an FTP server.
Thanks for your help,
M

- One method would be to mirror the Mandrake FTP directory to your server, and then
do an FTP install against it.

- I'd like to do that. How would I go about doing that?
Let's assume I put the ISOs in a dir called ISOs on my ftp archive
How do I tell the new machines to run the install from that location?
I have *no* idea how to do this.
Thanks (and sorry for the delay),
M

- Mount the ISOs with 'mount -o loop /path/to/iso /var/ftp/pub/disk1' , create a boot
floppy with 'network.img' and point it at '/pub/disk1' on your FTP server.

- Awesome! Thanks a bunch. I'll try this (but close the incident for now).
Sorry it took so long to get back. I thought I had set it up so that I'd be notified if anyone responded to my questions.
