omagere : 05/11/01 09:49 PM : Incident created
-   Intall went smoothly on my PIII 350 with 128MB. I have a DVD drive and a CDRW. neither of them has been configured. It worked without any problem on 8.0: i've extracted the install CD from a magazine DVD and the install was from the DVD drive reading disks that I have burned !

mount /mnt/cdrom causes i/o error.
fstab looks as follows :
/mnt/cdrom on /mnt/cdrom type supermount (ro,noexec,nosuid,nodev,dev=/dev/hdc,fs
=auto,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850)
There is no entry for the CDRW so no surprise.
Thanks for any help

-   You could try and disable supermount, for starters, with supermount -i disable
if you want to mount the drive (supermount means the drive gets automatically
mounted when you insert a CD into it). Could be a supermount problem - try it out.

omagere : 05/11/01 11:27 PM : More info provided
-   What I did is that I got rid of the supermount set-up in fstab and now I can mount cdrom. I'll probably leave it there since kde mounts CD when you click on it.

Thanks for your help
