-   I just installed 8.1 from download CDs and have been unable to find the Graphical Network Setup tools. First, where would I access them from if they are installed? Second, was there something special I had to do during the install to enable them?

Thanks

JoKur

-   grab yourself a shell, logon as "root" and run the command "netconf".
another way would be to runt the "Mandrake Control Center" tool

-   'K/Configuration/Other/Mandrake Control Center/' then 'Network and Internet'

-   Thanks, at first glance it looks like the same 8.0 interface. I was sort of hoping for more standalone server tools, like GUIs for BIND and APACHE. Guess those are still text config only?

-   BIND and Apache can be setup through 'linuxconf', but there is still alot of
functionality missing that hand editing provides.

-   you can do web based administration with webmin

run the service "service webmin start" then fireup your browser to
https://127.0.0.1:10000 you will be ask for your "root" password. the rest is
just a click away.

-   Go to Harddrake, click on the network/internet connections tab, you can
click "Expert Mode" (i think) set your interface from there..
To input more detailed network info i'd use LinuxConf.
