- When I click on the control center icon on the desktop, I get the root logon. I enter the logon (password is correct). The control center starts up and shuts down within 1 second. Any ideas?

- Try launching it from a console, after you have logged in as root, and see
what error it generates:
# DrakConf

- I am new at this, how do I log into the root? I know when I click certain system settings, it asks me to log into the root for the application only.

- To "become" root you have to use the ' su ' command. Linux will ask you the
root's password. Then the prompt will be ' # ' instead of ' $ ' ...
