If you are running the KDE desktop, have you looked at trying KTorrent as an alternative
to LimeWire? Sometimes it is realizing that alternative programs exist but not knowing
what they may be called.
To load a program, you would likely use RPM programs.
If you are running Mandriva 2008.1, please open the menu, look at submenu:
Menu->Tools->"System Tools"->"Configure Your Computer"
When you open that program, you have a manage programs tab which allows you to install or
remove programs. You also can indicate sources of RPMs that may be either CD, DVD, or URL
based locations.
You can also load individual RPM programs to your desktop or a subdirectory and double
click them to install RPM programs.
Hope this information helped. | |
