Windows wants to be the 1st and only operating system on the hard
drive. Attempting to install XP while retaining your Mandriva
install is a challenge best left for someone with knowledge and
experience.
It would be far simpler to backup what you need in your Mandriva
that needs backing-up, install XP to take-up the entire
drive, "then" install Mandiva afterwards.
