dugly_5271 : Incident created (12/05/08 01:28 PM)

- I have a dual boot computer. Firefox works fine in Windows xp but will not access the internet in Mandriva. Konqueror and Kontact are working properly. Picasa install times out when trying to contact the remote site. I cannot access any of the online repositories regardless of whether I use the media manager or easy urpmi. I have reinstalled mandriva several times and am now at a loss how to proceed. Also I have tried the live 2008 Spring and the live Ubuntu 7.10 to see if Firefox could get to the internet. Both failed.

I can use Konsole but do not understand the linux file system.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

- If I load a website on konqueror and select the location 'Open with Mozilla Firefox' it
opens ok in FF and I can then click and load internal links (eg on the Guardian
newspaper website I can access all the individual reports) while still in FF.
