Cannot format partitions

Lines in bold below have not yet been seen by the customer - those in blue are from the customer

ditchy_7152 : 11/05/08 09:08 PM : Incident created -   I have downloaded 2008 spring, checked the MD5 sum, and burnt 2 images on 2 separate DVDs. The installation process gets as far as creating partitions but will not format the partitions. Its not a disk fault, older versions of mandriva have no problem, neither does windows, they can all format the drive with no issues. I have 2 drives, both sata one of them has windows on it, the only error message is that partitioning failed, no codes or anything like that.
